Its no secret that many dogs love the aroma and taste of wet foods. A wide range of wet dog food exists, including natural and grain-free options, as well as those formulated to meet specific health conditions. Not only does wet food help dogs stay well hydrated, it is also generally a more palatable alternative to dry food.
Just like kibble, complete and balanced wet food contains ingredients to meet your dogs' protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamin and mineral needs. Wet food will also generally contain a thickeners or gelling agents to bind the food together.
Wet dog food is made by pouring the mixed ingredients into cans or pouches which are then vacuum sealed and sterilised in a heat and steam chamber for bacterial control and stability. This process retains moisture which is not only beneficial for health, but also makes the food extra tasty!
