Consistent prevention of fleas, ticks, and worms is essential for maintaining your puppy's health and happiness. Protecting your little furball from these parasites also safeguards your family, as these tiny pests can potentially move from your puppy to humans and other pets. Your puppy's long-term well-being relies heavily on regular and thorough parasite prevention measures.
At Pet Circle we stock a wide range of flea, tick and worming treatments for puppies of all ages and breeds so you can rest easy knowing your new pet is protected.
Puppies should ideally start receiving worming treatments at 4 weeks of age. This should be done every two weeks until they reach 12 weeks of age. The high frequency at this early stage is crucial because puppies can be especially susceptible to worms.
After your puppy turns 12 weeks old, the worming frequency can be reduced to a monthly treatment until they reach 6 months old. Following this, worming treatments for your dog should continue every three months for the rest of their life to ensure they stay protected against these parasites.
Most vets recommend treating for fleas from 8 weeks of age, and there are plenty of effective options available. Oral chews include Nexgard, Comfortis Plus, Bravecto, and Simparica Trio.

Always consult with your vet first. It's important to remember that puppies have more sensitive skin compared to adult dogs, and hence the product chosen should be specifically designed for puppies.
The frequency of flea and tick treatments can vary depending on the product you've chosen - either monthly or every 3 months. Each product will have its own set of instructions and recommended frequency of application, so be sure to follow those closely. Always consult with your veterinarian if you are unsure about the frequency of treatments or if you notice any adverse reactions following the application of these treatments.
