Cat worming tablets are oral medications specifically formulated to treat and control various types of internal parasites, commonly known as worms, in cats. These tablets contain active ingredients that target specific types of worms, such as roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, and whipworms, among others.
At Pet Circle we stock a wide range of worming products to keep your cat happy and healthy. This includes:
Cats should typically be wormed at different intervals depending on their age. For kittens, it is recommended to worm them every 2 weeks until they reach 12 weeks of age. After that, a monthly treatment is recommended until they reach 6 months of age.
For adult cats, which are cats older than 6 months, the general guideline is to administer worming treatment every 1 to 3 months. However, the exact frequency may vary depending on the individual cat's lifestyle, health status, and risk of exposure to worms. Worming treatments are often combined with monthly heartworm and flea treatments for convenience.
It is advisable to consult with a veterinarian to determine the most appropriate worming schedule for your adult cat based on their specific circumstances.
Worm infestations in cats can lead to a variety of symptoms. These can include visible worms or segments in the feces or around the anus, changes in appetite such as decreased or increased hunger, weight loss, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation, lethargy, poor coat condition, and anemia in severe cases. However, it's important to note that some cats may not display obvious symptoms, highlighting the importance of regular veterinary check-ups and preventative worming treatments.
If you suspect your cat may have worms or notice any concerning signs, it is best to consult with a veterinarian for a proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Early detection and intervention can help maintain your cat's health and prevent complications associated with worm infestations.
